I'm Shauna, a passionate hairdresser and salon owner born and raised in Sonoma/Marin counties, and proudly serving my guests in the lovely city of Petaluma, CA.

I've been doing hair for 16+ years and geek out on always learning more! I take pride in educating myself on new techniques and trends in hair and beauty. I just love to be a student of any kind and will never stop learning. I'm constantly attending a class, watching an online course, listening to a podcast, or reading to continue to grow.

If we work together, I think you'll love that I create a safe, judgement-free, and comfortable space for however you arrive. I give a thorough consultation with any new guest, and I always consult with existing guests before proceeding with any service. I will NEVER assume a guest wants the "same as before" and will always make sure to check in to see if we should make any adjustments or changes.

I also give a magical scalp and neck massage at the shampoo bowl, and have to add that the shampoo bowls at SUGAR are honestly the most comfortable ones I've ever laid in!

I'm an open-minded and caring Pisces who doesn't take myself too seriously. In my free time, you can find me lounging on the deck in my backyard with my French Bulldogs (proud dog mama over here!) or taking a trip to get some fresh salty air and a delish deli sandwich out at the coast. I love classic rock so freaking much, and at least 4 days a week, you will catch me in a band t-shirt. My vibe is laid-back but put-together. I have fun with my personal style, but don't like to overthink or overcomplicate it - life is busy and complicated enough! I enjoy when my personal style just falls into place without having to expend too much effort!
